Launched in 2010, Beale Park introduced 'Keeper Experience Sessions', giving you the chance to see behind the scenes and to meet the animals as you get up close and personal!
Feeding, the preparation of specialist foods, the cleaning and tidying of enclosures are just a few of the many daily tasks which you will have the opportunity to participate in as you join one of our keepers to assist in their daily rounds.
1) Primates (lemurs, squirrel monkeys and marmosets)
2) Baxters Farm (meerkats, coatis, raccoons and goats)
3) Birds (owls and aviaries)
Each three hour session is tailored to meet the needs of the animals while giving you the opportunity to assist with all elements of their care. Tasks range from cleaning and enclosure maintenance to the preparation of bedding, making specialist breads and animal enrichment – through the use of puzzles, ropes and equipment to stimulate and encourage activity.
The sessions are available at set times on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with a minimum two week advance booking. Spaces are limited, so please plan in advance to avoid disappointment. Please note that we do not run sessions on bank holidays.
9.30am – 12.30pm
1.30pm – 4.30pm
Prices: All sessions are £90 per person, per session and for adults only (over 18).
