Oak

Habitat:  The Oak tree is the most common of trees found in British woodlands.  Two oaks are found in the UK.  The common Oak more so in the south and central parts and the sessile Oak in North & West.

Fact file: The Oak is often home to a large variety of insects and fungi.  Over 500 recorded so far.  Oaks are rich in symbolism and in folklore the name “Druid” actually means Oak Man.
