Ginkgo or Maidenhair Tree

Habitat: This tree is very adaptable and grows in many parks and gardens

Fact file: A tall tree with spire-like shaped leaves.  This species of tree is thought to be over 200 million years old.  The tree used to grow throughout the world, but with the onset of the Ice Age it dropped in numbers and is now mainly found in the easternmost forests of China.
