Just inside Beale Park's entrance stands the Peacock Fountain which was commissioned in memory of the Park's founder, Gilbert Beale, as part of the Park's 50th Jubilee celebrations in 2006.
The sculpture, designed and created by Le Blanc Fine Arts, is a fitting tribute to a man who had a passion for birds and rare breeds and who chose to share his land with the public by creating the Child Beale Trust.
Gilbert was also known for his love of peacocks; his favourite of which used to accompany him around the Park in the passenger seat of his Rolls Royce.
Beale Park, part of the Child Beale Trust, has always appreciated the art form and beauty of sculpture and continues to display several pieces in the Park; introducing new and alternative pieces to stimulate interest.
