Beale Park has its very own narrow gauge steam and diesel railway!

Beale Railway is a 10.5 inch gauge 'permanent way' (track). There are two engines, a diesel powered Mercedes Benz and the 'John Remy' which is a steam locomotive.

Each engine is capable of pulling the full complement of 4 carriages and 64 people. The track is approximately a mile in length and each journey takes roughly 10 minutes.

Beale Railway runs every day during our open season, normally from 10:15 to 15:30 off-peak and from 10:15 to 17:30 in the summer and on school holidays.

The railway is run as a concession and is free with your entrance ticket (subject to availability).  Additional rides are charged at £1.00 each.
